It was fantastic to wake up this morning to the news that the Tassie miners had made it out of the mine and great to see the rescuers Aussie spirit that made it happen.

But…

No offense to the fellas who were stuck in the cage for 2 weeks, but the real heroes were the blokes who went back down to get them out.

It is ironic that the two blokes rescued are being spoken of as ‘heroes’. I’m sure they are good blokes and the vibe that came thru on the news tonight suggested they were true blue Aussie battlers, but heroes? They were two very unlucky men who were in the wrong place at the wrong time!

I’m rapt they’re out, but let’s not make them something they’re not.

Not wanting to be a wet blanket, but let’s face the facts!
